Rivers in Canada

There are so many beautiful rivers in Canada. When you're aboard on a flights to Toronto, you can see many of them below, but here are three of them which can be regarded as the longest and full of history.

Clearwater River

This river is located in the province of Saskatchewan and Alberta with total of 295 km in length. Rock-paintings along the upper portion of the river suggested that this area was inhabited 5,000 years ago. The Saskatchewan Province has establised Clearwater River Provincial Park to conserve the river's value.

Saskatchewan River

With approximately 550 km long, Saskatchewan River is a major river in Canada. Formed in central Saskatchewan, it originates from glaciers in the Alberta Rockies. The name itself, like the Saskatchewan Province, comes from the Cree word, kisiskāciwani-sīpiy, meaning "swift flowing river".

Winnipeg River

Winnipeg River originates from Lake of the Woods in the Ontario Province to Lake Manitoba in the Manitoba Province. Just like Saskatchewan River, this river was also an important transportation to western Canada for fur traders and explorers. There are 5 hydroelectric dams along the river.
